About Mole Mapping

The Future of Skin Cancer Detection

Mole mapping is the gold standard for tracking changes in your skin over time. It’s a highly specialised process that uses medical-grade photography and advanced software to create a complete visual record of your moles, freckles, and other skin lesions.

Why choose us

Why patients love these treatments

  • Early detection saves lives. Even the smallest change in a mole’s size, shape, or colour can be the first sign of skin cancer – often before it’s visible to the naked eye.

  • Objective comparison over time. Memory is unreliable when spotting changes in your skin. Mole mapping provides a permanent, accurate record that we can compare side-by-side at each visit.

  • Fewer unnecessary biopsies. By tracking lesions precisely, we can identify stable, harmless spots and avoid unnecessary procedures.

At The Skin Doctor, we perform mole mapping using the most advanced imaging technology in the world, offering both 3D and 2D options to suit different needs

About 3d Mole Mapping

3D Mole Mapping – The Gold Standard in Skin Surveillance (Diamond Creek)

Our 3D Mole Mapping service, using the VECTRA® WB360 system, is the most advanced skin monitoring technology available today.

This system captures your entire skin surface in one 360-degree session, using 92 cameras firing simultaneously. In seconds, a complete, true-to-life 3D avatar of your skin is created, allowing us to:

  • Examine every mole in ultra-high resolution

  • “Lift” lesions off the skin virtually for detailed analysis

  • Measure changes over time with precision

Detect new lesions that might otherwise be missed

How it works

  1. Step into the VECTRA® WB360 booth at our Diamond Creek clinic.

  2. Ninety-two cameras capture your skin from every angle in seconds.

  3. Our software creates a 3D model mapping every freckle and mole.

Images are stored securely for future comparison to track changes.
